Capsule Geology

The Sandy occurrence area is underlain by limestone of the Upper Triassic Quatsino Formation (Vancouver Group) cut by a set of north trending feldspar porphyry dykes and a set of northwest trending hornblende porphyry dykes. The Holly fault and major and minor splay faults intersect at the showing.

Mineralization is hosted in faulted, fractured and bleached limestone and consists of veinlets and fracture-fillings of galena, sphalerite, pyrite, arsenopyrite and tetrahedrite.
